We first opened the old grey french doors in 2004. My eldest daughter Anna, an excellent florist, suggested we should go into business together. I have always been a lover of old things combined with new to give a fresh feel. I had also owned a cafe, so we simply combined our passions.

This beautiful historic building became available which sealed the deal for us and we jumped right in. It was a bakery in a previous life so it wasn't hard to reveal the character and charm and create a warm and inviting experience for shoppers.

Today, a trip to Worn Out Wares is a wonderful experience, it's everything I love thrown into a shop. It's wonderful to watch those visiting for the first time express their delight as they meander through the store to meet their friends, rarely have they allowed enough time to take everything in. It’s nice to hear their plans to return soon with more friends, time, money and a trailer. I think what we offer at Worn Out Wares is good old fashioned country charm, generosity and warmth, a unique shopping and dining experience.
